Sunburst Mirrors

The sunburst mirror is one of the ultimate transitional pieces. Whether your home is traditional, contemporary, or a mixture of both there is a sunburst mirror for you. They are the perfect accessory or focal point and make a beautiful statement. They come in countless shapes, colors, and styles and honestly I don't know if I've ever met a sunburst mirror that I didn't like. :) So if you don't already have one in your home decor you should definitely think about adding into the mix. It will work well either in your living, dining, bedroom, or entry way!

Dressing Your Mantel

Trying to decide on how to dress up your mantel can sometimes be tricky. Do you make it a focal point or keep it simple? Do you use artwork, mirrors, nick-knacks, photos, greenery, etc? Really, the options are endless. My recommendations are to use pieces that have meaning to you, if you are doing a collection use odd amounts (3, 5 or 7), if you are going for a more traditional look use symmetry in your design, for a more modern approach keep it simple and asymmetrical. Also remember that if you use a mirror over your mantel that it is reflecting something that is worth reflecting (really this a just a good rule of thumb anytime you are going to place a mirror. Finally, do not and I repeat DO NOT put your television over your mantel. It is generally not at an appropriate height for watching television and it does not make for a great focal point.
